Mauve Rose

This painting is going to The Mortgage West building on South Pearl in Denver. Susan Bell has a show for 1' x 1' pieces opening in December. Each piece is going for $200.00 each. The proceeds will be going for a fund that feeds horses. Pretty cool.

This is 12" x 12" acrylic on canvas. I used a high gloss gel medium to create depth and texture.

It has been some time since I last posted. I have a show at Stella's Coffee House on South Pearl in Denver that goes down in mid-November 2012.

This rose was a fall bloom I captured with my amazing digital camera. My rose!

If it was my garden I would have several Red Pione plants to edge the boarders.

This is my neighbor's pione.

"Red Pione"  is headed for Stella's Coffee House on May 16th. It is a 16" X 20" acrylic on canvas.

I'm trying hard to finish it's matching partner a pink pione. The two of them together will make it a show!

Southwest road to Red Rocks.

Southwest Road. I guess I could have come up with a better title.
This is 16" X 20" oil on canvas. The Aurora Artist Guild invited me to do a demonstration for them. I was able to show my technique for painting the famous red rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. It is such a cool place. My humble brushstrokes cannot possibly define God's hand in this.
I will be taking this to Stella's Coffee House @ South Pearl in Denver on Tuesday, April 3.

Border Collies

Border Collies are medium sized little Einsteins.

This is Beau. He is a character in my novel "Miner's Pass".

This painting is acrylic on canvas.

Renye's Two Chairs

The painting below was painted by my friend who passed away 2 years ago. Renye Ress was very talented. About ten years ago, I was fortunate to acquire this painting. I don't know it's title so I call it "Renye's Chair."
She had a show at Common Grounds Coffee House on 32nd and Lowel. It was right before Christmas so I purchased this for my husband. We knew Renye from doing theatre in the Denver area. My memory serves me that when we were around her a lot of laughter transpired.

This is why I could feel her laughing with me when I composed this painting.

It is acrylic, 14" x 11" on canvas. "Renye's Two Chairs" has some elements I borrowed from Renye's painting. You can find it at Stella's Coffee House on February 15th.

Yes, that is a crop circle painting on the wall. The image makes me happy.
It appeared in Lockenridge, Wiltshire, UK in 2008. It looks simple but it is complex. Crop circles are fascinating. I plan to include them more in the future.

This is called "Up On The Roof"

It is 30" x 15" oil on canvas.

This is the view from Denver's wonderful museum next to the zoo and City Park.
From the roof of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, you can see very handsome beauty called Denver. This painting is hanging @ Stella's Coffee House in Denver. See you there!
"The Highway to Fairplay"

This was hung at Stella's Coffee House in Denver on March 30th.

THis is a 12" x 16" oil on canvas.

One of my favorite places to see is this stretch that starts at the Great Sand Dunes and then works its way North to South Park. I love the little home stead at the base of the mountains.

This is "Denver City Golf Course". Wow, exciting name. This is an example of how I like to paint in oils. I think of it as modern impressionism. The paintng is 30" x 12" oil on canvas. I will be hanging this at Stella's Coffee House on South Pearl St. In Denver February 16th. It is for sale as are my 2 longhorns.
These two paintings are 12" x 9" oil on canvas. I will be hanging them at Stella's Coffee House on South Pearl St. in Denver. I've gone back to more traditional style oil painting here. I have finished it off with a high gloss varnish just to mix it up a little. I have a tendency with oils to paint more boldly and thick. My retentive qualities show up when I paint with acrylics. Here I went more retentive. It was fun.
